This was the very first ever learning Thai reference material I ever purchased (: way back in 2012. Yes there are plenty of phone applications that can do exactly what this book can do. There is however a very important advantage well a couple it has over its computerized counterpart.

Vocabulary discountability,  using a paper based reference you can not help but to look at other vocabulary as you are looking up your chosen word.

Alphabet order: When using an application you do not learn what letter comes before or after another. Tell me any Thai Alphabetic character and not only can I tell you what character it comes before or after but I can also tell you its position in the Alphabet.

Never has a flat battery. Read this thing 24/7 use and abuse it a lat batter is never an issue with the good old paper edition.
